UPDATE – Spreading Roots in Westboro

13 08 2017

Spreading Roots in Westboro

As part of the Neighbourhood Arts 150 Project and presented by AOE Arts Council, Odyssey Theatre and Volunteer Gardeners of Clare Park invite you to share and perform in Spreading Roots, a performance celebration of Westboro’s trees and green spaces.

Spreading Roots is a theatre-based community arts project drawing together elders, children, youth, and adults to create a celebration of their neighbourhood trees through storytelling, dance and song that features the planting of a new tree.

Writer/Storyteller Jacqui du Toit visited the park in June to collect your stories. The next steps will be to integrate story, song and dance with Director Rebecca Benson, Composer and Music Coach Vanessa Lachance and Choreographer Allison Burns, and to stage the celebration! Come out, get involved, and have some fun – all are welcome!

Dance, Song & Script: Saturday, August 26, 1:00-4:00pm

Putting Together the Show: Thursday, September 7, 5:30-8:00pm

Performance & Celebration: Sunday, September 10, 6:30pm

All at Clare Gardens Park

Please see the attached poster for additional details.
