June 6, 2011
Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Location: Senior Parlour
Former Westboro United Church (450 Churchill Ave)
Further to the Neighbourhood Open House held on September 14, 2010, residents are invited to view revised plans for the development at an Open House on Monday June 6th in the Senior Parlour of the former Westboro United Church.
To briefly summarize, the previous plan provided for the retention of the 1913 portion of the church to be used as a Music hall, a 5 storey condominium of some 35 – 40 units and office space of 10 – 12,000 square feet. An underground garage of approx 51 spots accommodated all parking and had its entrance off Ravenhill.
The revised plan will still be able to save the 1913 church but rather than a Music Hall will serve as office space for Bluesfest and other music organizations. The lower level will be retained for community space.
The residential component will comprise of 16 townhouses, and the office will be 3500 – 4000 square feet. All parking will still be underground but will be approximately 24 spots with the entry proposed to be off Churchill.
Chris Henderson of Kitchissippi United Church, Barry Hobin of Barry Hobin & Associates Architects, Mark Monahan of Ottawa Music Foundation and David Spillenaar of Springcress will be available to briefly explain the proposal.
The Open house will be available at 6:30 with a brief presentation at 7:00.
