Proposed changes to transit service in Westboro

April 21, 2009

As part of its annual “Transplan” exercise OC Transpo has issued a series of proposed changes to transit service in the near west end that affect a number of routes serving the Westboro area. The deadline for public comments is April 25 but given the signficance of some of the possible service changes, the WCA has asked Councillor Leadman to request that OC Transpo extend this deadline by at least one week.

In the meantime, we encourage you to review the changes on the OC Transpo website and submit comments to OC Transpo as well as posting them here on our blog so as to help the WCA board come up with its own position on this issue.

Clare Gardens Park update – now with survey

April 15, 2009

Thank you to everyone who came out to tonight’s meeting! It was a resounding success. Thank you again to Mothercraft for generously providing the meeting space.

As promised: here is the City of Ottawa Playground Replacement Questionnaire. Click here to download. It is an MS-Word file. We’re asking all families who use Clare Gardens Park to fill it out.

The new playstructure to be installed this year will be for preschool age children (18 months to 5 years of age). It will replace the existing red playstructure. Recommendations for school age play equipment are welcome as we are planning for the long term.

Please note:

  1. You must provide your name and phone number on the form.
  2. You must send in your response by May 15th (but sooner is better)!
  3. Completed surveys can be emailed to us at hellowestboro@yahoo.ca, dropped off at 416 Athlone, or faxed to Jeff Kaster at 613-725-5394
  4. Please pass this info along to friends and neighbours.

Thank you,
